Illness*She was ill with diphtheria in June 1922 at the family home at Lisgar Street, Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. When Kathleen became ill, she was seen by a homeopath, who diagnosed her incorrectly and told Mary she'd be fine. By the time Mary realized how very sick Kathleen was, she was too sick to be helped, even though there was a cure at that point if it was caught early enough. Kathleen was put in the isolation unit of the hospital, and then Mary was, because she had contracted it too. Mary was unable to tend her daughter as she died or to attend the funeral.1,2,17 
Death*She died of diphtheria in June 1922 at Isolation Hospital, Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, at age 10.18,2,17,19 
Burial*She was buried at section C, range 2, grave 11, Beechwood Cemetary, Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. She shares a headstone with her parents, William Woodley and Mary Louisa Steele Woodley.2,20,1,21
